User Management
Overview
The Roles & Permissions section controls what each user role can do within the platform. Navigate to Security → Roles & Permissions in the menu bar to view and configure access rights per role.
Available Roles
The platform includes three predefined roles:
| Name | Technical Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| User | inowise-user-rol | Standard read-only access to most platform areas |
| Manager | inowise-manager-rol | Extended access for operational management tasks |
| Administrator | inowise-admin-rol | Full access to all platform features and settings |
Permissions
Each role can be configured with granular Create, Edit, and View permissions across all platform modules. Use the role selector at the top of the page to switch between roles and adjust their permissions.
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| Group | Create, edit, or view user groups |
| User | Create, edit, or view platform users |
| Role | Create, edit, or view roles |
| Location | Create, edit, or view locations |
| Asset | Create, edit, or view assets |
| Sensor | Create, edit, or view sensors |
| Shop Floor | Create, edit, or view shop floors |
| Widget | Create, edit, or view dashboard widgets |
| Image | Create, edit, or view images |
| Alert | Create, edit, or view alerts |
| Message | Create, edit, or view messages |
| 3D Floor | Create, edit, or view 3D floor plans |
| Network | Create, edit, or view network configurations |
| Rule Engine | Create, edit, or view automation rules |
Each permission can be toggled independently per action type (Create / Edit / View), allowing fine-grained control over what each role can see and do.
Permission Actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Create | Allows the role to add new entries in the given module |
| Edit | Allows the role to modify existing entries |
| View | Allows the role to read and see entries without making changes |
A role can have View access without Create or Edit rights, making it suitable for read-only operators who need visibility without the ability to make changes.
